30 PCT DISCOUNT ON TRAFFIC SUMMONS AT KEDAH KITA MADANI CARNIVAL

ALOR SETAR, Sept 20 (Bernama) -- The Royal Malaysian Police counter to check traffic tickets and settle summonses with a 30 per cent discount is one of the highlights awaiting visitors to the 2024 Kedah Kita MADANI Carnival in Sungai Petani from today until tomorrow.

The carnival held at Bandar Perdana Recreation Park organised by Kedah Information Department (JaPen) with the cooperation and involvement of various agencies and other government departments is targeting about 3,000 visitors.

Assistant director of Kedah JaPen Community Development and Communication Services branch Aidatul Shima Che Hassan said the carnival is a field programme for the local community as well as an engagement session of JaPen in an informal atmosphere.

"This programme is one of JaPen's platforms to channel information on government policies and, initiatives as well as national messages based on the concept of Malaysia MADANI to the local community," she told Bernama today.

According to her, the carnival will be opened by Sungai Petani MP Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari who is representing Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil.

Aidatul Shima said the carnival starts at 9 pm tonight with an e-sport competition as well as a one-on-one youth chat with the Sungai Petani MP.

The carnival continues tomorrow with programmes that include Rahmah Sale, MADANI Agro Sale, Sungai Petani Lotus Sale, Hasani Book Store Sale and Local Entrepreneurs Sale.

"There will also be a Budi MADANI Briefing by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, the Inland Revenue Board and the Department of Agriculture.

"Redemption of MADANI book vouchers, mobile counters that offer various services by agencies are also provided apart from exhibitions by government agencies and lucky draws," she said.

Aidatul Shima said she hoped people would take the opportunity to visit the carnival, which also aims to strengthen the bond between leaders, the government and the community.
