KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his Chinese counterpart, Premier Li Qiang witnessed the exchange of 14 documents during the latter’s three-day official visit to Malaysia which concluded today.
The exchange of the documents, which cover various areas of interest, also showcases the enhanced cooperation between the two nations over the past five decades.
As stated in the Joint Statement between the Republic of China and Malaysia on Deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Towards China-Malaysia Community with a Shared Future released today, the documents are:
Five-Year Programme for Economic and Trade Cooperation between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of the People's Republic of China (2024-2028)
Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of the People's Republic of China on Strengthening Investment Cooperation in the Digital Economy
Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of the People's Republic of China on Promoting Investment Cooperation in Green Development
Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of the People's Republic of China on Cooperation in the Field of Housing and Urban Development

Li arrived in Malaysia for an official three-day visit on Tuesday, the third and last leg of his eight-day tour that has taken him to New Zealand and Australia.
Li’s visit coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China, following the signing of the Joint Communiqué between second Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein and then Chinese Premier Chou En Lai on May 31, 1974.
