KEMBARA RIUH PROGRAMME IN KUCHING RESCHEDULED TO JULY 26-28

KUCHING, June 25 (Bernama) -- The Kembara RIUH programme led by the Communications Ministry through MyCreative Ventures will be held in Sarawak from July 26 to 28, according to MyCreative Ventures Group chief executive officer Zainariah Johari.

She said the RIUH Oha! event was initially slated to be held in Kuching this weekend but had to be rescheduled for certain reasons.

“The Kembara RIUH programme had been organised back to back (in Johor and Melaka previously), so we decided to hold it for a while because we want the best in Sarawak.

“RIUH Oha! in Kuching will involve various interesting components because the city has been recognised as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Creative City of Gastronomy,” she said when featured in Bernama TV’s Apa Khabar Malaysia programme today.

Zainariah said RIUH Oha! will also be the platform for young people, especially artists and entrepreneurs to showcase their talents and products. 

“For the Sarawak edition, MyCreative Ventures will also try to get several popular Sarawak-born artistes to perform at the event.

“This programme also aims to create job opportunities and increase the gross domestic product (GDP) in creative industries that focus on creative workers,” she said.

The Kembara RIUH programme was previously held in Johor Bahru from April 5 to 7, followed by RIUH x National Youth Day in Melaka from May 25 to 26.

After Sarawak, RIUH Bah! 2.0 will be held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on Sept 14-16, RIUH Ork! in Kuantan, Pahang (Oct 25-26) and Rock N' RIUH in Kuala Lumpur (Dec 6-8).

MyCreative Ventures Sdn Bhd was established in 2012, aiming to empower the country's creative and arts industries through several loans and strategic equity investments as well as grants such as the Music Industry Digital Content Fund, the International Marketing and Promotion Fund and the Irama Perpaduan Fund.
