PRIME MINISTER HEADS KEDAH SULTAN'S 82ND BIRTHDAY HONOURS LIST

ALOR SETAR, June 30 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim headed the list of 238 recipients of state honours in conjunction with the 82nd birthday of the Sultan of Kedah Al-Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah today.

Anwar was awarded the Darjah Seri Setia Sultan Sallehuddin Kedah Yang Amat Dihormati (SSSK) which carries the title of ‘Datuk Seri Diraja’, in an investiture ceremony at Istana Anak Bukit.

The Sultanah of Kedah Sultanah Maliha Tengku Ariff, Raja Muda of Kedah Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah Sultan Sallehuddin and Raja Puan Muda of Kedah Che Puan Muda Zaheeda Mohamad Ariff were also in attendance.

Sultan Sallehuddin conferred the Datuk Seri Setia Pahlawan Yang Amat Dihormat (SSPK) which carries the title of ‘Datuk Seri Pahlawan’ on the Chief of Defence Force Gen Tan Sri Mohammad Ab Rahman.

Three recipients were awarded the Darjah Gemilang Wira Mahkota Kedah Yang Amat Dihormati (DGWK) which carries the title ‘Datuk Wira’. They are Kedah Finance Officer Datuk Syed Khairol Anuar Syed Abidin, Army Chief General Tan Sri Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan; and Health Director-General Datuk Dr Muhammad Radzi Bin Abu Hassan.

Sultan Sallehuddin also consented to award the Darjah Datuk Setia Sultan Sallehuddin Kedah (DSSS) which carries the title of ‘Datuk’ to the state Education, Religion, Communication and Information Committee chairman Mohd Azam Abd Samat, AFK Group chief executive officer Tan Sri Dr Azmil Khalili Khalid and Colonel (Rtd) Datuk Mohd Aros Othman.

Nine recipients received the Darjah Datuk Setia Diraja Kedah (DSDK) which carries the title of ‘Datuk’ including Kota Setar district officer Hakim Ariff Md Noor; Kedah deputy state secretary Dr Nadzman Mustaffa; Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability secretary-general Datuk Dr Ching Thoo Kim and Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) vice-chancellor Prof Dr Mohd Foad Sakdan.

Also receiving DSDK are UUM Board of Directors’ member Mohd Zuhri Abdullah; Klinik Pakar Mata Abdul Razak Sdn Bhd’s medical director Dr Abdul Razak K.V Koyakutty; Kedah’s Majlis Guru Pondok (HESA) chairman Abdullah Lebai Samah; Yiked Bina & Tanjung Digital director Mohd Azam Saad and Kedah Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Ang Saik Cheong

Four recipients were conferred the Darjah Datuk Setia Pahlawan (DDSP) which carries the title ‘Datuk’, namely the Malaysian Armed Forces’ Department of Veterans Affairs director-general Major General Zambery@Jefry Darus; the Armed Forces defence logistics assistant chief of staff Major General Abdul Aziz bu Hassan; Malaysia Infantry’s Sixth Brigade commander Brigadier General Saipol Anuar Jaafar and Kedah police chief Datuk Fisol Salleh.

Thirteen recipients were awarded the Setia Diraja Kedah (SDK), including Padang Terap district officer Azmin Zainol Abidin, Pokok Sena district officer Mohamad Rizal Mohamad Radzi and Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital director Dr Fauziah Abdul Wahab.

A total of 32 individuals received the Ahli Mahkota Kedah (AMK), followed by Ahli Setia Pahlawan (ASP) (11 recipients), Bintang Perkhidmatan Cemerlang Kedah (BCK) (15 recipients), Bintang Kebaktian Masyarakat (BKM) (52 recipients) and Ahli Cemerlang Semangat Jerai Kedah (ASK) (20 recipients).

Thirty-five recipients were awarded the Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang Kedah (PCK); Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) (19 recipients), Pingat Perkhidmatan Lama (PPL) (20 recipients).

Also present were the Prime Minister’s wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, Kedah Menteri Besar Kedah Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor and the state government executive council members.
