WATSONS TAKES 30 YEARS IN MALAYSIA CELEBRATION TO THE SKIES, UNVEILS EXCLUSIVE DEALS

KUALA LUMPUR, July 5 (Bernama) -- Watsons Malaysia commemorates its three decades in Malaysia's health and beauty retail industry by unveiling its Watsons-branded airplane in collaboration with local low cost airline, AirAsia.

AS Watson Group group chief executive officer (CEO) Dr Malina Ngai said in a statement today that their belief of the 'Sky is Not the Limit' when it comes to serving customersled to that partnership and represented an initiative that brings the essence of wellness and beauty to the skies, with the launch of Watsons's first livery, in-flight branding, in-flight shopping and in-flight engagement.

"The Watsons-branded airplane livery features Unik the cat, Watsons Malaysia’s mascot, with prominence on the Watsons Club Member card, and O+O (Offline & Online) messaging.

"It also highlights the convenience of shopping O+O, as customers can now shop via the Watsons App or website and enjoy Express Delivery, and ensure their products are delivered to their doorstep in less than two hours.

"On top of that, the in-flight branding highlights key product features, including travel and health essentials and beauty products. Passengers can view these offerings during their flight and easily scan QR codes. Upon landing, they can purchase items and have them delivered via express delivery or click and collect at any preferred store," she said.

In line with the reveal, Watsons Malaysia’s partnership with AirAsia will allow Watsons Club members who shop a minimum of RM100, either in-store or online, to join a Spend & Win contest that offers phenomenal prizes such as AirAsia flight tickets, AirAsia MOVE hotel stays, AirAsia Move points and Watsons’ e-vouchers.

"For travellers who board the Watsons-branded airplane, AirAsia will activate in-flight engagements on the 30th of every month to drive giveaways and enhance passenger interaction. From personal care to skincare essentials to wellness products, passengers can access a curated selection of top-notch health and beauty offerings while soaring to their destinations," Ngai shared.

Watsons Malaysia also annouced that Watsons Club Members can redeem AirAsia Rides vouchers through Watsons W Rewards on its mobile app, while AirAsia MOVE app users can redeem Watsons e-vouchers for purchases on Watsons online and app using promo codes available. 

Meanwhile, Watsons Malaysia managing director and Watsons International Regional Exclusives Director Caryn Loh said the collaboration between Watsons and AirAsia enhanced the flexibility and value of both rewards programmes, providing members with even more options to maximise their benefits.

She also said that Watsons Malaysia had consistently spearheaded collaborative initiatives throughout the years to bring innovation and customer satisfaction to new heights.

"We now have more than 700 stores nationwide, over 7.5 million Watsons Club members with a robust loyalty programme and offer more than 12,000 products both in stores and online. Our goal is to provide convenience and value, ensuring seamless experiences for our customers," she said.
