GOLD FUTURES CLOSE LOWER

KUALA LUMPUR, June 26 (Bernama) -- The gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed lower today, coinciding with the weakened performance of the COMEX gold futures.

At the close, the spot month June 2024 contract dropped to US$2,319.10 per troy ounce from US$2,334.40 per troy ounce yesterday, while July 2024 slid to US$2,326.30 per troy ounce from US$2,341.30 per troy ounce previously. 

August 2024, September 2024, October 2024 and December 2024 all receded to US$2,342.30 per troy ounce compared with US$2,357.20 per troy ounce yesterday.

Volume rose to 29 lots from six lots on Tuesday, while open interest expanded to 49 contracts from 27 contracts.

The price of physical gold stood at US$2,325.05 per troy ounce, according to the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on June 25.
