FBM KLCI FUTURES END HIGHER

KUALA LUMPUR, July 4 (Bernama) -- The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended higher today.

Apex Securities Bhd head of research Kenneth Leong said he expects the FBM KLCI to defend the 1,600 points mark as mild consolidation takes shape amid the absence of fresh leads.

“Immediate resistance is located at 1,630. Downside-wise, support remains pegged at 1,580,” he told Bernama.

Spot months July 2024 and August 2024 increased 3.5 points to 1,624.5 and 1,627.0, respectively. Meanwhile, September 2024 and December 2024 rose 4.0 points to 1,611.0 and 1,618.0, respectively.

Turnover decreased to 8,264 lots from 8.381 on Wednesday, while open interest was slightly lower at 50,015 contracts from 50,513 contracts previously.

At 5 pm, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) rose 1.43 points to 1,616.75 compared to Wednesday’s close of 1,615.32.
