IPOH, Sept 11 (Bernama) -- The National Population and Family Development Board (LPPKN) aims to achieve around 70 per cent data collection on the family lives of Malaysian through the Sixth Malaysian Population and Family Survey (MPFS-6) 2024.

LPPKN deputy director-general (management) Hairil Fadzly Md Akhir expects this target to be reached by the end of the year.

“A study that achieves a response rate of 70 per cent or more is considered highly comprehensive and reliable, ensuring its validity,” he told reporters after the MPFS-6 2024 implementation meeting at Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan today.

The meeting was also attended by state Women, Family, Social Welfare, Cooperatives and Entrepreneur Development Committee chairman Datuk Salbiah Mohamed and Perak LPPKN director Nurfarhana Lee Mohd Zulkiflee Lee.

In an interview on PerakFM Radio yesterday, Hairil Fadzly said the study aims to cover 37,550 residences nationwide.

He said the large-scale, national study, which commenced on July 11, is conducted every 10 years and the last one was done in 2014.

The study will gather data on marriage, divorce, family planning, fertility, pregnancy, reproductive health, mental well-being and social support from family members.
