ASEAN capitals' governors and mayors are attending a regional forum in Vientiane from 18 to 19 September. The forum will discuss urban climate resilience, smart city technologies, sustainable economic growth, and green tourism.

 

2. LAOS ENHANCES INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY MANAGEMENT -- VIENTIANE NEWS

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce is teaming up with the World Intellectual Property Organisation to protect its intellectual properties. The international body will help the ministry improve document management, online services, and information searches.

1. TYPHOON DESTROYS 41,000 TREES -- VIETNAM.VN

Vietnam Road Administration confirmed Typhoon Yagi has uprooted about 41,000 trees along the Hanoi – Hai Phong Expressway. The expressway operator is preparing to hire a consultant to replant the destroyed trees.

 

2. NORTH-SOUTH HIGH-SPEED RAILWAY PROJECT -- VIETNAM NEWS

Vietnam plans to launch a high-speed railway connecting the north and south, replacing the current only goods train that ply the route. The project is poised to drive the growth of railway and supporting industries, promoting a sustainable, modern and eco-friendly transportation system.

1.BI CUTS BENCHMARK INTEREST RATE BY 25 BASIS POINTS -- THE JAKARTA POST
