The China-Laos Railway handled more than 10 million tonnes of goods worth US$5.76 billion since its operations in December 2021. It transports about 3,000 products — China-made mechanical and electrical items, and agricultural products like natural rubber and tropical fruits from Laos and Thailand.

1. WFP DONATES FOOD AID FOR FLOOD VICTIMS — GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR
The World Food Programme (WFP) launched an emergency food aid operation for about 500,000 people trapped in floods triggered by Typhoon Yagi. The floods, caused by the typhoon is considered one of the worst in Myanmar’s modern history that has impacted food security.
2. NORWAY’S US$500,000 AID FOR FLOOD RELIEF -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR
Norway contributed US$500,000 to rehabilitate regions impacted by floods. Relief supplies include shelter, food, purified water, and medicines, which will be distributed by the Norwegian Red Cross and its partner organisations through the Myanmar Red Cross Society
