BEIJING, Sept 12 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The following are the indices of major stock markets in Asia on Thursday, as reported by Xinhua.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened at 2,722.14 points, up 0.34 points, or 0.01 per cent.
The Shenzhen Component Index opened at 8,122.77 points, 17.39 points, or 0.21 per cent higher.
The Hang Seng Index gained 68.59 points, or 0.40 per cent, opening at 17,177.30 points.
The S&P/ASX 200 index advanced by 52.20 points, or 0.65 per cent, opening at 8,040.10 points.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average climbed 565.85 points, or 1.59 per cent, opening at 36,185.62 points.
The Straits Times Index rose by 22.43 points, or 0.64 per cent, opening at 3,553.60 points.
The Korea Composite Stock Price Index surged by 34.13 points, or 1.36 per cent, opening at 2,547.50 points.
