MAKKAH, June 15 (Bernama) -- The Haj pilgrimage calls upon Muslims to reaffirm their faith in Allah SWT and reject all forms of polytheism or associating partners with Him.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Dr. Mohd Na’im Mokhtar when delivering his sermon for Day of Wukuf in Arafah, emphasised that Haj strengthens faith, enhances worship and cultivates noble character.

"Allah SWT intends to impart profound wisdom through the Haj pilgrimage, guiding us with rules and prohibitions to avoid actions that lead to harm and destruction. This includes the the crucial aspect of guarding the tongue and controlling our speech," he said.

Mohd Na’im stressed that Haj encourages Muslims to reflect on Allah SWT and rejnounce any form of polytheism that may lead to deviation and sin.

"Our presence here at Arafah is a divine blessing and a gracious permission from Allah SWT, facilitating the journey for His honoured guests from far and wide, until they complete the Haj pilgrimage successfully.

"We forsake our families, wealth, and comforts at home solely to heed  the call of Allah SWT as His honoured guests, fulfilling the fifth pillar of Islam.

"This is the climax of the Haj pilgrimage, standing in Arafah as decreed by Prophet Muhammad SAW, truly, Haj culminates at Arafah," he said.

As such, he said the 31,600 Malaysian pilgrims chosen as guests of Allah this year should be grateful, as many Muslims eagerly await their turn to be invited as dhuyufurrahman.

He also urged them to perform all the rites and obligations of Haj with discipline and profound reflection, while steadfastly obeying His commands.

Following the sermon at Arafah, the pilgrims performed the Zohor and Asar prayers together, followed by reciting the talbiyah and engaging in remembrance of Allah.

Earlier, Mohd Na’im spent time visiting the accommodation tents and interacting with the Muassasah pilgrims here.

Malaysia was allocated a quota of 31,600 pilgrims by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the 1444H/2024 Haj season.
