FARHAN WANTS TO HELP MALAYSIA WIN REGU TEAM TITLE AT THAI KING'S CUP

KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 (Bernama) -- National player Farhan Adam has set his sights on helping Malaysia clinch the regu team title in the Premier Division of Thai King's Cup sepak takraw championship 2024, scheduled to take place in Korat from Sept 1-8.

Farhan, who plays as left apit, acknowledges that it is no easy task and teamwork is vital to achieving the mission of revenge after losing 1-2 to Thailand in the same event at the International Sepaktakraw Federation (ISTAF) World Cup in May.

"The team event is the most challenging for the Malaysian sepak takraw squad because all three regus need to be strong. No one can afford to falter, and everyone has to play their role.

"We need to train harder and support each other to achieve a balanced and cohesive team. Actually, if we win the team regu event, God willing, our regu will also succeed," he said recently.

Farhan, affectionately known as Emon, admits he is not considering retiring from the sport anytime soon.

Instead, at 35 years old, Farhan is aiming to be selected to represent Malaysia at the Asian Cup and SEA Games in Thailand next year.

"If Malaysia becomes host, I hope to be selected, God willing. I will try my best in all tournaments," he said.
