KUALA LUMPUR, 23 Sept (Bernama) -- The spirit of Malaysia thrived at Rumah Malaysia in Brunei as over 300 Malaysians gathered to celebrate the nation’s 67th National Day and Malaysia Day 2024.
The "Malam Jiwa" reception, held in conjunction with National Day and Malaysia Day on Sept 21, showcased a strong sense of unity and cultural pride, bringing together Malaysians to honour their heritage and national identity.
The reception was hosted by the Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, Datuk Mohd Aini Atan, and his wife, Datin Zaeidah Mohamed Esa, following their arrival in Brunei on Sept 19.
In his speech, Mohd Aini urged Malaysians to continue to strengthen bonds and unity.
"The bonds of brotherhood and unity among Malaysians continue to be strengthened based on the determination to unite and live in peace and harmony," he said.
The event began with the Maghrib prayer, a recitation of “doa”, followed by the singing of Negaraku and the recital of the Rukun Negara. A sumptuous dinner was then served to the guests.
